The Sweetheart Roll

Valentine’s Day is upon us and we’ve created a new roll to melt your Sushi loving hearts!  Inside the Sweetheart Roll is spicy krab, mango, and avocado.  It has a layer of salmon and strawberries on top.  And finished with a little ponzu sauce.  Some of you might be a little hestitant with strawberries and mango being in your Sushi.  Don’t be, I assure you the flavors work well and you’ll enjoy our new creation.  Credit goes out to Chef David for this amazing work and Scotty again for a great name.  We are taking reservations for parties of 2 or more for the 14th!  Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our awesome fans!!!

The Double Rainbow

Great things happen for your tastebuds when great minds get together.  Today Chefs David and Scotty, myself included, wanted to make a truly filling roll.  At first I thought to try an “Everything” Roll, but Scotty suggested a Double Rainbow.  We agreed on the ingredients and made one of our best rolls to date, IMO.  Inside is spicy tuna, krab, avocado, and cucumber.  Topped with shrimp, whitefish, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail.  Then another layer of shrimp, whitefish, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail on top of that.  Then lightly drizzled with ponzu sauce.  Come try what may become your new favorite this week!!!

Mega Crunch Roll

We went into the archives for this week’s special.  The Mega Crunch has sweet potato tempura, fried calamari, cream cheese, and avocado inside.  It is rolled with crunch on the outside.  And we use sweet eel sauce and a dot of sriracha sauce on each bite.  Hope to see you soon!

Smokey and the Bandit Roll

Chef Zack suggested we try and use smoked salmon as an ingredient for this week’s roll.  So we did.  And we’re quite happy with the outcome.  Inside we put spicy krab mix, cucumber, and avocado.  Topped with smoked salmon, spicy mayo, and bonito flakes.  A little spice kick and a little salty smoke flavor as well.  Credit goes to Scotty for naming the roll.  Come try one this week!

Grizzly Bear Roll

Do you love salmon? Then this weeks roll is perfect for you! Baked salmon, crispy shrimp tempura, and cucumber on the inside. Then on top is fresh salmon, ripe avocado, scallions, and spicy Thai ponzu sauce. Mmm! Embrace your inner grizzly bear at Sushi 101 today!

Atkins Roll

Welcome back ASU students and faculty!  This week’s special roll is keeping up with our low carb kick!  No rice, no seaweed.  Krab stick, avocado, and fresh salmon wrapped in a radish peel.  Come try one today.  And remember Happy Hour is EVERYDAY from 4 to 7 and 9 to close.

Spicy Geisha

Happy New Year to all of our Sush 101 fans!  If one of your resolutions is less carbs, then you’ll love our new roll.  The Spicy Geisha uses no rice or seaweed.  It has a cucumber base.  We use 2 of each of the following as a topping:  spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy krab and spicy salmon.  It is lightly drizzled with a spicy mayo sauce.  We hope everyone had a great holiday and we hope to see you soon!

The Festivus Roll

We’re finishing out a great year with another outstanding roll.  Inside is sweet potato tempura, krab mix and cream cheese.  On top is fresh tuna, avocado, crunch and eel sauce.  How does this one compare to the dozens of other specials we’ve created this year?  There’s only one way to find out, come try one soon!  Our chef Zack approves this message.

Surf’s Up Roll

This week we’re featuring the Surf’s Up Roll.  Let’s save ourselves the agony of using adjectives like “gnarly” and “tubular” and get right to the ingredients.  Inside is deep fried surf clam strips, krab, cucumber and avocado.  It is topped with cooked shrimp, thin sliced lemon and ponzu sauce.  This roll tastes delicious, bro.
